[別寒辺牛湿原]
　ラムサール条約の登録湿地として脚光を浴びている。別寒辺牛川流域に広がる8,200haの湿原にはタンチョウの営巣地やオジロワシも確認され雄大な湿原は原始の姿をとどめている。「ベカンベウシ川」はアイヌ語で「ひしの実の多い川」の意味をもち湿原の中を蛇行しながら多くの支川や沢水を集めて厚岸湖に注いでいる。
Bekanbeushi Marsh
It has received much attention as one of the marshes registered under the Ramsar Convention. Breeding grounds of Japanese cranes and white-tailed eagles have been confirmed to be in this 8,200-ha marshland remains primitive even today. Bekanbeushi meansw "the river where many water chestnuts grow" in Ainu, and as many tributaries and steams join it, it meanders in the marshland and flows into Lake Akkeshi.

[霧多布湿原]

　浜中町中央部に広がる国内第3位、3,168haの広大な湿原に季節の草花が一面に咲き乱れる中を琵琶瀬川がゆったりと太古の匂いをふくみながら流れ、泥炭形成植物群落803haが国の特別天然記念物の指定を受けている。湿原中央部をつらぬくＭ・Ｇロード（湿原の道）にたたずむと心のなかを心地よい風が吹き抜けていく。季節の香りを漂わせ、旅の心を酔わせてくれる。
Kiritappu Marsh
This 3,168-ha marshland is in the center of Hamanaka and is the third largest in Japan. Here, where seasonal flowers bloom in profusion, the Biwase River flows slowly. The bog-forming plant community covering 803 ha is designated a Special National Natural Monument. when you stand on MG Road (Marsh Grassland Road), which passes through the marsh's center, pleasant winds blow through your heart. Wafting seasonal fragfances enhance the feeling of traveling.

[火散布（ひちりっぷ）沼、藻散布（もちりっぷ）沼]

　湿原地帯の中にポッカリと空間をあけた美しい湖である。タンチョウや白鳥が楽しく遊ぶ姿は訪れる人の感動をよぶ。
Lake Hichirippu and Lake Mochirippu
Lake Hichirippu is a beautiful lake enveloped by marshland. Seeing the activities of Japanese crames and swans moves visitors.

●アッケシ草（俗名サンゴ草）
　淡水と海水が入り交じった湖、厚岸湖の東岸にアッケシ草の群落が発見されたのは明治24年のこと。現在は湖岸の侵食が激しく、町では保護のため試験栽培を始め、毎年真紅の輪が少しずつ広がってきている。
Akkeshiso (Coral-resembling plant)
In 1891, a community of Akkeshi was found on the east shore of Lake Akkeshi, where fresh and salt water mix. With the erosion of the shore, the community, and the circle of red plants gradually expands yearly.

霧多布湿原センター

　平成5年5月にオープン。霧多布湿原の自然情報をいち早くキャッチできる。シアタールームが無料開放されていていつでも湿原の四季に出会うこともできる。展望室にはコーヒーラウンジが有り、湿原にふれながらのコーヒータイムは格別。

Kiritappu Marsh Center
Opened in 1993, this is where you can get the latest infomation about nature in Kiritappu Marsh. In the free theter, come in touch with the four seasons of the marshland anytime of the year. There is a coffee lounge in the outlook room. Enjoying a cup of coffee while overlooking the marshland is a superb experiense.
