神秘の湖摩周湖、日本一の御神渡り（おみわたり）が天と地を圧倒する屈斜路湖、そして硫黄山と随所に名所が点在する弟子屈は温泉の町としても有名。野の花押花美術館、三浦綾子記念文庫、原田康子の文学碑など原野の中に芸術の香り漂う当町にはまだまだ知られざる魅力が隠されている。 The Mashu are is dotted with scenic spots, including mysterious Lake Mashu, Mt. Iou and Lake Kussharo, where Japan's freatest Omiwatari (bridge-like upheaval of lake ice) overwhelms the heavens and the earth. The area is also famous as a spa. Other secret charms include the Nonohana Oshibana Museum, Ayako Miura's Memorial Library and the Literary Monument to Yasuko Harada, an artistic touch in the wilderness.
