Kushiro Town capitalizes on its proximity to Kushiro Marsh,which has a history dating back to the primitive ages, and the natural abundance along the shores of the Pacilic Ocean. A row of suburban commercial facilities are located along the National Route. The town is developing with a view to harmonizing people's lives with nature. As the birthplace of boots ice hockey, a winter sport which is enjoyed in many different places, Kushiro holds the all Hokkaido Boots Ice-Hockey Championship in January. |
